Moving planes for domain walls in a coupled system

چکیده

The system leading to phase segregation in two-component Bose-Einstein condensates can be generalized hyperfine spin states with a Rabi term coupling. This leads domain wall solutions having monotone structure for non-cooperative system. We use the moving plane method prove monotonicity and one-dimensionality of transition solutions. relies on totally new estimates type which no Maximum Principle priori holds. also derive that one dimensional are unique up translations. When coefficient is large, we non-constant exist.

Domain Walls in Strongly Coupled Theories

Domain walls in strongly coupled gauge theories are discussed. A general mechanism is suggested automatically leading to massless gauge bosons localized on the wall. In one of the models considered, outside the wall the theory is in the nonAbelian confining phase, while inside the wall it is in the Abelian Coulomb phase. Confining property of the non-Abelian theories is a key ingredient of the ...

New Perspectives on Moving Domain Walls in (A)dS5 Space

A new moving domain wall solution is obtained for a flat 3-universe. This consists of a bulk metric depending on both time and the extra coordinate, plus a dynamically interacting domain wall, admitted by the metric and inhabited by the three-universe. The matter contents are cosmological constants on the domain wall and the bulk. The bulk space is shown to be (A)dS5. A remarkable fact concerni...

Domain walls and vortices in linearly coupled systems.

We investigate one- and two-dimensional radial domain-wall (DW) states in the system of two nonlinear-Schrödinger (NLS) or Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equations, which are couple by linear mixing and by nonlinear XPM (cross-phase-modulation). The system has straightforward applications to two-component Bose-Einstein condensates, and to bimodal light propagation in nonlinear optics. In the former case...

Moving Walls

In the early 1980s, I used Stan Rosenschein’s functional language REX to servo Flakey’s two wheels to set points of speed and direction that were functions of sonar readings. This let Flakey drive along hallways with no dead reckoning or planning whatsoever. It seemed miraculous at the time; a situated automaton that knew things without needing any models. However, I thought of it as (sensor-dr...

Moving Porous Half-Planes

A shear flow motivated by relatively moving half-planes is theoretically studied in this paper. Either the mass influx or the mass efflux is allowed on the boundary. This flow is called the extended Stokes’ problems. Traditionally, exact solutions to the Stokes’ problems can be readily obtained by directly applying the integral transforms to the momentum equation and the associated boundary and...
